There has been some concern of landslide in Gasing Heights vicinity, but no fatal accident has happened so far. Furthermore, local authority has approved ban on development on slopes between 15 and 35 degrees displaying signs of erosion, land instability or laden with sensitive geological materials. Since the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide accident in 2008, many residents have already filed legal actions preventing new development projects in Gasing Heights, that could potential cause landslide.In October 2013, the residents were complaining about mud from hillslope in Bukit Gasing. The mudflow after a downpour would clog the drains and causes its content to overflow into the roads. The areas affected were Jalan 5/132, 7/132, 6/132, 5/46A, 5/58 and 9/132. As the hillslope are on Kuala Lumpur side of the hill, the resident association were urging Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to take action before the situation worsen.The unfortunate events that the residents have gone through have strengthen their bond and sense of community. The residents have an active residents association, RT Gasing Indah and updated their Facebook account regularly. All of them are striving towards the betterment of their neighbourhood and foster better neighbourhood cooperation and unity.
