Taman Zooview is a hill-side residential neighborhood located at Ukay in Ulu Klang. As the name tells, the neighborhood overlooks the National Zoo, and surrounded by lush greenery. It is relatively small but it is a longish development built on a ridge that slopes westward towards the Klang River. The enclave houses terraces and bungalows. Taman Zooview is surrounded by decent amenities - and mostly are just within 5 to 10 minutes of driving. It is mere minutes away from Melawati's central business district (CBD) that contains rows of convenience stores, groceries, restaurants, post office, banks and even a food court. There was a landslide occurred near Taman Zooview on the 31st May 2006. It has destroyed a long house at Kampung Pasir, which also resulted in 4 fatal casualties. Investigation carried out claims that it was caused by the failure of retaining wall. The retaining wall is supposed to be built in 2005, but was just built and completed a week before the tragedy. Also, it is found out that the affected area was a fault zone and a valley which contributed to the landslide. Nonetheless, landslide is still an issue despite of the last landslide nearby happened years ago. The government (including the municipals) has banned the development in Taman Zooview immediately following Bukit Antarabangsa's landslide in December 2008. Taman Zooview is a serene and peaceful neighborhood to live in. Surrounded by trees, you can feel the fresh breeze from the forest right in front of your doorstep. Nonetheless, it is a good place to stay.
