Teh says the first stage of the upgrade will not adversely impact congestion as the existing lanes on Lebuh Puteri will not be affected.
TRAFFIC flow on the Bandar Puteri interchange in Puchong is expected to be much smoother following commencement of upgrading works.
The RM20mil upgrading initiative is wholly funded by IOI Properties Group’s (IOIPG) in two stages.
Work began on Oct 20 and is scheduled to be completed by mid-2018.
The first stage involves road widening which will be carried out at the road shoulder of Lebuh Puteri, fronting Citibank and Giant Hypermarket.
The U-turn underneath the Bandar Puteri Interchange will also be closed.
This second stage work is only scheduled to begin middle of next.
There are alternative routes for motorists to enter Bandar Puteri during this upgrading project.
For traffic coming from Putrajaya to Bandar Puteri, motorists can turn right at Puchong Perdana traffic light junction and proceed to Jalan PPU/1.
Motorists coming from Shah Alam, Putra Heights and USJ into Bandar Puteri are advised to make a left turn at the Puchong Perdana traffic light junction and proceed to Jalan PPU1 or make a U-turn in front of Tesco Puchong.
IOIPG chief operating officer Teh Chin Guan said that during the first stage of the works, traffic flow would not be severely affected.

“The existing lanes on Lebuh Puteri will not be affected because we are building an additional lane.
“So there will be a total of three lanes to facilitate traffic flow, once stage two of the upgrading works begin next year.
“In stage two, the traffic lights on the interchange will be removed to create free flow access,” he said during the press conference at IOI Galleria.
The interchange is currently serving the more than 404ha Bandar Puteri township with an estimated population of 11,500 residents and a business hub in approximately 600 shophouses and four office towers at Puchong Financial Corporate Centre.
The event was launched by Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo who lauded the developer’s upgrading efforts, saying that it would serve the community well.
“In Puchong, there are many toll gates and traffic is always heavy because of the large number of vehicles on the road all the time.
“Developers should take measures to help resolve the traffic congestion before building more units.
“It is also important to ensure that residents have better connectivity, and I am glad to see this project serving that purpose,” he said.
