PETALING JAYA: The UMW High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Park, developed by UMW Development Sdn Bhd has received the Special Mention in the Malaysian Institute of Planners Planning Excellence Awards (MIPPEA) 2024 Award, for Design Excellence in the Masterplanned Development – Large Scale (250 acres and above) category. The award has recognised the industrial park's excellence and innovation in planning, design and development.
“We are truly honoured to receive this prestigious recognition from MIPPEA. It is a testament to the collective effort of our team, partners, and stakeholders in shaping a future-forward eco-friendly industrial park,” said UMW Development director Eric Chew Kar Kean, who received the award on behalf of the company.
Designated as a cargo-oriented development with the upcoming East Coast Rail Line (ECRL), the UMV HVM Park, located in Serendah, offers comprehensive facilities, including multi-tiered security, business support units and readily available infrastructure. The park also proposed a centralised workers’ quarters for 6,000 workers and is GreenRE certified, incorporating solutions such as solar-powered lights, rainwater harvesting methods and recycling facilities. A sprawling 100-acre Central Park offers leisure facilities such as walking and cycling tracks.
