PETALING JAYA: UMLand Bhd and Uber Malaysia today announce a four week pilot project by offering free rides to better serve customers and residents of Albury @ Mahkota Hills.
Albury @ Mahkota Hills is strategically located neighborhood within the growth corridor of Southern KL which is home to the Malaysia Vision Valley, KLIA Aeropolis and Cyberjaya City Centre. Tucked away in Semenyih, Negeri Sembilan, Albury @ Mahkota Hills is poised to enjoy the economic spillover impact from these three upcoming federal projects.
This new economic corridor has been outlined by the federal government as part of the Eleventh Malaysia Plan 2016 to 2020. In it, the government has mapped out six growth strategies to take the country forward in order to build a sustainable property market as well as pursuing green growth for sustainability and resilience. The government had also allocated budget to strengthen infrastructure developments to support the economic expansion in Southern KL.
However, as infrastructure developments in the Southern Corridor will take some time to come on-stream, connectivity to the southern region of KL remains a key issue, particularly for those who rely on public transportation. Currently the KVMRT Line 1 will serve up to Kajang only.
With this in mind, Uber and UMLand have teamed up to offer free rides for buyers and residents of Albury @ Mahkota Hills over four weekends starting from 25 February 2017 until 19 March 2017.
“We are pleased to be partnering with Uber as it is a popular transportation mode among many Malaysians, particularly the Gen Ys, who happen to be the key demographic of our buyers,” said Benjamin Lee, Head of Subsidiary, UMLand Mahkota Hills.
“As a responsible developer, we always want to add value by reducing carbon footprint and to create job opportunities for our buyers who are interested to be a partner driver with Uber to supplement their income. This is particularly strategic as we are located within the growth corridor.”

Riders now have a choice of safe, reliable rides from their homes to wherever they need to be, including to public transport options. The sponsored weekend rides will take customers and existing buyers from Mahkota Hills Sales Gallery in Kawasan Perniagaan Kiara in Semenyih to the development itself.
All customers and residents need to do is to approach a sales staff at the Mahkota Hills Sales Gallery. They will then open the Uber application on the iPhone or android phone and type a promo code. An Uber driver will pick them up to Albury @ Mahkota Hills. The expected pick up time will be within seven minutes.
