KUALA LUMPUR: Property developer UEM Sunrise Bhd is hopeful that its various promotional campaigns and upcoming property launches will help it achieve its RM1.2bil sales target for 2017.
Managing director and chief executive officer Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said the company would have “better clarity” after October on whether it could meet its sales target for this year.
“We still have a number of upcoming launches for the remainder of this year,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the launch of the company’s ‘Signature Selection: Road to Russia 2018’ home ownership campaign here yesterday.
“We just launched Mayfair (Australia) and Solaris Parq next to Publika (Kuala Lumpur). In Johor, we’re launching Serimbun, so there are pockets of launches that we’re doing and it will give us better clarity (in October) on whether we’re on target.”
For the ‘Signature Selection: Road to Russia 2018 campaign’, which runs from Aug 15 to Nov 30, UEM Sunrise is targeting between RM300mil and RM500mil in sales.
The campaign, which is in conjunction with next year’s FIFA World Cup, offers buyers of selected UEM Sunrise properties a chance to catch the football tournament live in Russia.
Separately, Anwar said there is still demand for high-end properties despite the weaker market environment currently.
“For Solaris Parq, which has a price range of more than RM1,200 per sq ft, we’re looking at a sector of the market that appreciates products that are more high-end. But given the current environment, we reduced the property size, so it is a lot more acceptable.
“So, while the per sq ft price is high, the total amount is reasonable because the overall area space that we’re selling has been reduced. People don’t mind paying because they like the location.”
