A NEW commercial development by NCT Group of Companies in Sungai Petani, Kedah, is set to bring further economic progress to the district.

Dubbed N-City, the integrated commercial development in Jalan Bakar Arang will have 157 shop-cum-office units suitable for retail and business purposes when their construction is completed at the end of 2019.

There will also be a nine-storey elevated car park with 820 parking bays located in the heart of the development.

At the project’s soft launch, NCT Group founder and managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy said the company was grateful to be given the mandate by the Kedah State Development Corporation to help develop Sungai Petani and its surrounding area.

“As a property developer, the company’s long-term vision is to provide a better quality of life to our customers with quality products and services,” he said in his speech at the company’s Food Carnival recently.

Also present were NCT Group co-founder and executive director Datuk Yap Fook Chop and Kedah Mentri Besar’s special officer Ooi Khir Tong.

Visitors to the event were treated to snacks from food trucks and a lion dance performance.

Priced from RM1.15mil per unit, the 16ha development will have three phases.

All units will feature 5m-high ceilings on the ground floor while the three-and-half storey corner units will have an elevator in it.

The company’s senior sales and marketing manager James Chang Chee Wooi said about 40% of the 56 units under the first phase had been sold.

There will also be upcoming developments within the project, including a three-storey convention hall with a 2,322sq m exhibition space designed to fit in 200 booths.

A 18-storey four-star hotel with 202 rooms is also scheduled to be built and completed in 2020.
