Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai
KUALA LUMPUR: Tropicana Corp Bhd has appointed Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, who is Top Glove Corp Bhd executive chairman, as its non-executive deputy chairman. Lim’s appointment was effective Tuesday, the property developer said in a statement.
Prior to joining Tropicana, Lim, 59, has snapped up an additional 8.5% stake in Tropicana, making him a substantial shareholder with about 10.24% direct shareholding in the group.
Tropicana also noted that on Oct 2, Datuk Lim Thean Shiang, 46, was appointed as its non-executive director.
He has been an executive director and group chief executive officer of oil and gas services provider Daya Materials Bhd since March 2015.
Tropicana said the group was expected to benefit from his 20 years of experience in property development and construction.
As at Oct 24, Tropicana has a total land bank of over 1,000 acres nationwide.
