KUALA LUMPUR: Kesturi, a subsidiary of Ekovest Bhd, had temporary closed down the road at Jalan Taman Bukit Maluri yesterday to facilitate the dismantling works of the support structure of the I-beam.
According to statement, a routine site inspection in front of the Sekolah Agama Kuala Lumpur (SMAKL) discovered that the formwork structure supporting the I-beam is tilted to one side, likely due to a heavy vehicle knocking into the structure.
As the actual cause of the incident is under investigation, Kesturi has taken proactive steps to commence the dismantling the support structure. The structure is no longer required for the construction to support the I-beam.
According to the press release, the reports circulated stating that the structure has collapsed was inaccurate as the photos circulated alleging the collapse of the structure was taken during the dismantling works.
