SHAH ALAM: The three-day StarProperty.my Fair (i-City Edition) later this month aims to offer potential buyers and participants an up close and personal experience to some of I-Bhd’s tech-furbished homes.
The fair, which is being organised by Star Media Group Bhd and I-Bhd from June 10 to 12, will showcase developments such as Hill10 Residence, 8Kia Peng, Parisien Tower, Hyde, Liberty Tower and i-Suite.
Star Media Group group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai said the projects featured at the fair have set the benchmark for technologically-incorporated homes.
“These new developments would surely put i-City ahead of all other developments,” he said at the launch of the fair yesterday.
Citing a recent poll by the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (Rehda), Wong highlighted that more than half of Malaysians surveyed wanted to own a home within the next six months.
“In a recent poll done by Rehda involving 1,655 respondents, it found that 56% of Malaysians surveyed wanted to own a home within the next six months.”
He said the poll also showed that 38% of respondents were first-time house buyers, 30% repeat buyers, 23% investors, 6% expatriates and 3% tenants.
“However, the present economic situation has proven to be challenging in the real estate market. With increasing prices, lower loan approval rates and financial constraints, many Malaysians find home ownership to be a distant dream.

Wong said the contest offers participants a chance to win a unit at the Petaling Jaya Midtown development located at Section 13, worth RM557,800.
The three-day StarProperty.my Fair (i-City Edition), which will be held at the I-Gallery at i-City, will also feature renowned speakers on property investments and smart home technology.
There will also be a lucky draw for purchasers during the fair, including two return air tickets on economy class to Tokyo, Paris and London.
During the fair, all purchasers will be entitled to free sales and purchase agreements and loan legal fees.
