Deserving developments have already been awarded, but there are more things to come for developers that had participated and won the awards.
The judging panel hopes that the competition between the winning and participating developers will give them the motivation to develop quality projects for the future.
Developers are expected to break new ground, walk the talk, and deliver on their promises, as they are responsible for raising the lifestyles of fellow Malaysians.
Association of Valuers, Property Managers, Estate Agents, Property Consultants in the Private Sector president Datuk Siders Sittampalam commented that developers have been doing an excellent service to society, consumers and the public at large.
AREA Management Sdn Bhd executive chairman Datuk George Stewart LaBrooy advised: “Keep on innovating because as the markets move, you also have to move with the times. We have seen a huge paradigm shift in the last 10 years. I think a lot of developers have recognised that it will take very good offerings to make a development going.”
Malaysian Institute of Geomancy Sciences president Prof Joe Choo concluded, “Keep up with the good work. We want to see more to come and we want you to build a good Malaysia.”

All-Star Award – Top Ranked Developers of the Year
This award went to 10 developers that have consistently created and added value to their property projects. These developers engage with important stakeholders, especially the communities that they serve and their customers. These are the developers that continue to surpass expectations and raise the bar in service standards, from pre- to post-sales. Quantitative assessments were performed by Affin Hwang Asset Management Berhad. Judging was performed by Star Media Group.
Developers with established track records are best suited to participate in this category.
An Affin Hwang Asset Management Bhd spokesperson shared, “Due to the nature of the awards, we analysed the financial standing of the shortlisted companies on a homebuyer’s perspective rather than based on stock performances. For homebuyers, the certainty that the developers’ companies are healthy and sustainable, and able to deliver the products in long term projects are the important aspects for consideration.”
“Basically, the points given to the candidates are a vote of confidence on their financial stability. Companies with better balance of sheets and lower debt will be the most advantaged in our assessment.”

The Wow Award – Most Iconic Development
This award went to the development that is iconic in every way possible. The development exhibits elegance that form the architectural style of buildings. Out-of-the-box, but not just for the sake of being different. The development exudes elegance, style and exhibits unique architectural elements. Jaw-dropping, eye-opening projects apply here.
The Family-Friendly Award – Best Family-Centric Development
The award went to the development that puts family first. Family-friendly recreational facilities and community activities are created to enable families to foster a closer bond within a safe and secure environment. This is the perfect place for families to put down their roots, while offering space for a growing family to live together comfortably.
The Five Elements Award – Best Township
This award went to the township that has the best integration of the crucial five elements: Security, Amenities, Connectivity, Ambience, & Community. All five elements are given due attention and no effort is spared when it comes to enhancing each of them. Strategy is the name of the game, and this township is designed, and planned to deliver a seamless living experience within a short-drive radius.
The Earth Conscious Award – Best Green Development
This award went to the development that has green on its mind all-around. The development should showcase environment-friendly elements in its planning, design and construction processes. Beyond that, the development encourages environmental sustainability as a way of life and must have obtained at least one relevant certification.
The Niche & Unique Award – Best Boutique Development
This award went to a boutique development that is relatively smaller, yet it breathes a distinctive and stylish concept. The unique development caters to a particular niche market and takes its offerings to an exemplary level. Size does not matter here, but an enviable combination of modern lifestyle and lush landscaping does.
The Just-Walk Award – Best Integrated Development
This award went to the development that epitomises the ‘Work, Play, Live & Learn’ concept. The development is built with a choice selection of amenities within a neighbourhood’s walkability range. As such, the community would have lower carbon footprint due to the ‘just-walk’ factor that is the result of an integrated, sustainable and liveable environment.
The Starter Home Award – Best Affordable Home
This award went to the development in the affordable range. ‘Affordable home’ is defined as providing the best possible lifestyle and project quality that is priced below RM500,000 in the market. This development is a must-own for all first-time home buyers as it checks all the right boxes – value for money that does not discount on quality and aesthetics.
The Best Touch & Feel Award – Best Quality & Finishing
This award went to the development that has beautiful aesthetics and functional design that is executed to perfection. The development must incorporate building materials of exceptional quality, while creating a positive overall impact. It looks awesome, but more importantly, the development brings true comfort to the senses.
The Cornerstone Award – Best Landed Development
This award went to the development that delivers the best of the best for landed properties.
