A bubbly and cheerful lady, Wong has been a resident of Shah Alam for over three decades. Born in Petaling Jaya, she and her family relocated to Shah Alam when she was only one year old. Wong fondly recalls her childhood home as a double terraced house that sat atop a hill in S11.

“At 5 pm, we would play with all the neighbour’s children who are mostly of the same age,” she said, adding that they usually interacted at the roadside. Among the games they played include badminton and mock cooking. Occasionally, they would also prod the touch-me-not plants to watch the leaves close in distress.

Even though her life back then was blissful, Wong lamented the lack of amenities nearby her old house. According to her, there were only a few petrol kiosks and food stalls around a two kilometres radius from the development.

In Setia Alam, where she is now living, the township has much better planning. Wong cited the nearby kindergarten, schools and grocery stores as among some of the benefits of living in Setia Alam. “If we need to go to watch the movies, there is the Setia City Mall nearby,” said Wong. Regarding convenience, her current house in Damai Precinct is also a few minutes driving distances from her office.
