PETALING JAYA: Sunway Property has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri (MBIP) to implement green initiatives at the Sunway City Iskandar Puteri (SCIP), where a low carbon zone has been designated.
Among the key initiatives are the integration of smart city technologies to curb carbon emissions, the exploration of green architectural designs and the promotion of eco-friendly transportation.
“This partnership with MBIP strengthens our efforts in building a model township that not only embraces green practices but also actively works towards achieving the goals set out in the Iskandar Puteri Climate Action Plan 2030,” said SCIP chief executive officer Gerard Soosay at the signing ceremony. “Our mission is clear - to create a vibrant, low-carbon city while contributing to Sunway Group’s broader vision of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.”
MBIP mayor Datuk Mohd Haffiz said the MoU represents a key milestone for Iskandar Puteri.
“This collaboration with Sunway City Iskandar Puteri reinforces our mutual dedication to building a low-carbon, sustainable future. By incorporating smart technologies and sustainable practices, we are not only reducing emissions but also improving the overall quality of life for residents,” he said.
Beyond infrastructure improvements, the partnership will also focus on community engagement through educational programs, exhibitions, and sustainability-driven initiatives aimed at inspiring both awareness and action.
