ISKANDAR PUTERI: The year 2021 is proving to be a year of advancement for Sunway City Iskandar Puteri and NEC Corporation of Malaysia Sdn Bhd (NEC Malaysia).

The latter is gearing to support Malaysia’s digital economy with a new contact centre in Sunway Big Box Office Tower.  

Growing its footprint from Singapore to the Southern Region of Malaysia, NEC Malaysia’s Innovation Centre of Excellence (CoE) is temporarily located at Sunway Citrine Hub in Sunway City Iskandar Puteri, Johor.

It will relocate its managed services and contact centre operations for its customers in the Southeast Asia (SEA) region to Sunway Big Box Office Tower in January 2023. 

Sunway City Iskandar Puteri chief executive officer Gerard Soosay said the collaboration would help boost job opportunities for Malaysians within the integrated township and contribute to the economic growth of the area.  

“We are pleased that NEC has chosen Sunway Big Box Office Tower as their preferred location to set up their first regional contact centre here in Malaysia. 

“With the expansion of NEC Malaysia to Johor, we are confident that they will be able to reach out to the customers in the SEA region to provide them with more efficient services with cutting-edge customer experience,” said Soosay.

“We are looking forward to developing innovative core digital technologies and services that deliver greater social value for a better future," said Chong.

NEC Malaysia managing director Chong Kai Wooi said Sunway City Iskandar Puteri is ideal for expanding NEC’s smart city solutions. 

“Through our CoE and our world-leading solutions, we want to help Malaysia in its transformation to an inclusive, digital nation,” he said.

Soosay is confident that Sunway Big Box Office Tower will earn a strong reputation for its quality offering.
