BANGSAR: StarProperty, in collaboration with its strategic partner proptech firm Didian Realtor Sdn Bhd and venue sponsor UPGen, organised the first-ever StarProperty Academy session.
The event was to enrich real estate agents and negotiators knowledge on the property market and other related information.
The session revolves around Feng Shui, with Malaysian Institute of Geomancy Sciences president Prof Joe Choo invited as guest speaker.
According to Choo’s Feng Shui forecast, areas in Selangor, Johor, Melaka and even Perak will be experiencing a property boom. Hence property buyers are encouraged to make their purchases there.
Buyers were recommended to buy commercial properties, and if they were to invest in residential properties, it would be best to convert them for short-stay rentals like iBilik.
Based on the five elements, Choo explained that places residing at the northwest, west and southwest should be auspicious for this and next year.
The event also introduced the Didian B2B marketplace, a medium that helps registered agents and negotiators gain access to ongoing projects offered by developers.
“Since the launch of Didian in October 2019, 158 units have been booked, totalling sales value of over RM 122mil, representing a total commission payout of about RM2.75mil up till now,” said Didian director Chow Nam Kit.
He added that there are new projects listed and project launches on Didian marketplace, coming up within Klang Valley over the next few months, which are represented by an estimated total of RM1.2bil in gross development value.
Office-based solution provider, UPGen is equally enthused to link enterprising individuals and large corporations together. UPGen country head Arvindeep Singh commented that the organisation is going to have a minimum of 15 to 16 events a month, to bridge freelancers and start-ups to multinational corporations and small to mid-size enterprises.
“We are not here to just sell spaces, but to add values to the companies,” he explained. UPGen functions like a cloud platform for businesses to grow and scale up. It provides services like procurement of prime location for clients as well as design-build and fit-out to provide office spaces that match clients needs.
Meanwhile, Choo advised real estate agents to seek leads in customers working for industries based on the earth, fire and metal elements as they will have the money to spend.
Such individuals may work in legal, tourism, oil and gas, transportation, telecommunication and agriculture.
From the year 2024, there will be 20 years of fire luck worldwide. Hence agents should attempt to sell to fire-based clients, such as those working in the field of IT and electronics. Digitisation is becoming prominent, so Choo advised agents to familiarise themselves with technology and reach out to the wider market.
