PETALING JAYA: More than 3,000 people attended the SP Setia Bhd’s batik themed Raya open house recently. One of the main highlights was a batik fashion show, which was presented both physically and digitally, and featured contemporary works by batik designers Batik Tektura, Hani Nazeera and John Ang.
Held at the Oval Lawn in Setia City Park at the Setia City Convention Centre, the event was presented by TV and Radio Era hosts Nabil Ahmad, Haniff Hamzah and Ray (Shah Reza Mohd Shah), and followed by performances by pop singers Amy Mastura and Tomok.
“We are pleased to welcome our Setia customers fondly known as Citizen Setia and supporters to celebrate our Sentuhan Syawal, Sentiasa Bersama Raya Open House 2024, with its anchoring theme of batik, supported by its trending catchphrase; Raya Batik, Raya Cantik,” said chief operating officer Datuk Zaini Yusoff, adding that the theme of batik also reflected SP Setia’s commitment in preserving cultural traditions and using it to celebrate the communities.
The event was packed with plenty of fun activities such as delightful food stalls, batik face painting stalls, batik workshops which involve batik painting and batik-covered notebooks, Harmonik Perdana live band and flash mob performances by Team Setia.
The batik theme was also further showcased at the event by the Batik Artisan Market, with brilliant offerings such as handmade batik products, Malaysian brands and batik artisans to empower local businesses, and also Setia booths featuring its upcoming developments across the Klang Valley.
