SETIA ALAM: SP Setia Bhd celebrated its golden jubilee year with a host of events, including its revitalised commitment under the theme Shaping Spaces That Shape Us All, highlighted by the unique #SetiaQubies – life-sized cubes symbolising SP Setia's pledge to craft living spaces that enrich the essence of Live, Learn, Work and Play for its customers and the broader community.
During the launch, SP Setia chief executive officer Datuk Choong Kai Wai said: “For 50 years, we've been pioneers in building lively communities, driven by our LiveLearnWorkPlay development philosophy. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to these values, aiming to inspire and create spaces that resonate with beauty and purpose. We're especially proud of our initiatives like SP Setia’s eGreen Living and the innovative Green Switch, emphasising our dedication to sustainable living.”
“Our purpose to build great communities has driven us for the past 50 years and will remain at the core of everything we do. This milestone gives us the perfect opportunity to show our purchasers, Citizen Setia, how much we appreciate their continuous support and trust,” he added.
The event drew over 5,000 visitors to the Oval Lawn of the Setia City Convention Centre in Setia Alam on July 21.
Choong added: “We are delighted to have celebrated our 50th anniversary Celebrating Spaces birthday bash – and brand refresh – with our loyal customers, Citizen Setia and the public, welcoming over 5,000 visitors on the day. We would like to thank everyone for their support, as we continue to strive for excellence across all our developments and maintain our purpose to build great communities, for the last 50 years, and beyond.”
The event ended with a concert, hosted by energetic duo Baki Zainal and Nadia Hasnan, and saw a strong lineup of top musical talents like rock legends Datuk Awie and Ella, pop star Danny Koo and the highly entertaining Didi & friends. The action-packed event started with the latter’s performance, flashmob and choirs performed by the talented Setia Harmony (who are Setia staff), followed by mesmerising acrobatics stunts and fire displays by Psycusix Circus and star-studded headliners. Performing a special duet of Baldu Biru with Ella, among his other recognisable tunes such as Terima kasih, Awie shared: “I would like to thank SP Setia for opening this show to the public and for allowing the fans to connect with us and enjoy this celebration together. It felt wonderful to entertain the fans, who brought along their friends and families as well, and to those who had been on this property journey with Setia.”
After seeing the crowd sing along to her iconic tunes such as Standing in the Eyes of the World and Rama-Rama, Ella commented: “Nothing beats the energy from a good crowd, the fans and supporters of Setia. I feel incredibly honoured to be part of this 50th anniversary celebration with Setia, which is a huge milestone, and to feel the love from the fans who came to support us.”
The event offered other engaging activities such as art and craft sessions at the Artisan Bazaar, property sales booths, ESG workshops, competitions and delicious refreshments.
Meanwhile, the #SetiaQubies roadshow will continue across Klang Valley, Penang and Johor, and will be launching a Pose With #SetiaQubies contest, from July 26 to Aug 26, 2024.
