PETALING JAYA: SkyWorld Development Bhd (SkyWorld) has welcomed more than 120 media partners, bankers and estate valuers to an exclusive tour of the recently completed EdgeWood Residences to showcase the integration of passive design strategies, smart innovations and eco-conscious features that define SkyWorld’s Healthy Home principles.
Present at the tour was SkyWorld chief executive officer Lee Chee Seng who briefed the attendees about EdgeWood Residences’s various design aspects.
Part of the SkySanctuary township located in Setapak, EdgeWood Residences was built with over 75% daylight coverage per unit, achieves thermal comfort with optimised building orientation, shading devices and an earth-tone façade that minimises heat absorption and has enhanced cross ventilation via the use of large windows in the units. The residence also employs soundproofing technology that lowers noise levels from 70dB to 50dB or below, ensuring a quieter and more peaceful living environment.
EdgeWood Residences has eco-friendly and energy-saving features, such as low-VOC materials, energy-efficient fittings and rainwater harvesting systems, contributing to a healthier indoor environment and lower environmental impact. Some of the energy-efficient features are the high-speed inverter lifts, which consume 30% less energy than conventional lifts.
The residence is surrounded by the SkySanctuary Central Park, a 2.92-acre resident-only green space. It features a central lake, lush greenery and natural biodiversity and has an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 8-10 (healthy zone).
EdgeWood Residences has also achieved a high Qlassic score of 86% and a bronze GreenRe certification.
"At SkyWorld, we believe that a home should do more than provide shelter—it should enhance the quality of life. Through SkyWorld Healthy Home, we are refining urban living by integrating sustainability, comfort and wellness into every aspect of our developments,” said Lee.
“EdgeWood Residences exemplifies this vision, ensuring that residents enjoy cleaner air, better thermal comfort and thoughtfully designed community spaces that promote a healthier, more balanced lifestyle," he added.
