PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Property Bhd won twelve awards at the Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards 2024 (MLAA14), highlighting the group’s dedication to architectural excellence and emphasis on integrating sustainability in its developments across the nations.
Group managing director Datuk Azmir Merican said the group believed that good landscape and architecture could enrich community well-being and contribute positively to sustainability efforts, specifically in urban biodiversity.
“These recognitions reflect Sime Darby Property’s dedication to creating sustainable communities as guided by our purpose to be a value multiplier for people, businesses, economies and the planet,” he added.
Also present was integrated development chief operating officer Datuk Mohd Idris Abdullah who accepted the Best Client Award, the star of the MLAA14.
Sime Darby Property received excellence for the City of Elmina and honour for KL East in the Landscape Masterplan Award category, and two honours in the Landscape Development category for the City of Elmina and Nilai Impian.
It also won three honours in the Environmental and Landscape Management category for the City of Elmina and Bandar Bukit Raja as well as in the Green Infrastructure category for Serenia City. The group also secured four honours in the Landscape Analysis and Study category for City of Elmina, Serenia City and Nilai Impian, and in the Landscape Design Awards for City of Elmina.
Organised annually since 2007 by the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM) and endorsed by the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), the award celebrates excellence in landscape architecture.
