PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Property Bhd (SDP) has received two certifications for its effort to uphold sustainability in its developments.
SDP’s Cantara Residences has been awarded a Gold Rating in the Residential New Construction category by the Green Building Index (GBI), the Elmina Central Park in the City of Elmina is now officially certified as a ‘Level II arboretum’ by the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum.
Group managing director, Dato’ Azmir Merican said these recognitions demonstrate the Company’s commitment to upholding high standards of sustainability during the GBI rating certificate presentation ceremony. Also present were GBI general manager Andrew Kong, GBI board chairman Abu Zarim Abu Bakar, SDP business unit head Chung Chai Yin and SDP Township (Ara Damansara) head Mohamad Ashreen Abdullah.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to driving progressive action and being the leading voice in keeping sustainability at the core of real estate,” said Azmir.
These accreditations add to Cantara Residences' and the City of Elmina's successes. Located at Ara Damansara, Cantara Residences won World Silver for the Residential Mid-Rise category at the 2023 FIABCI Page 2 of 2 World Prix d'Excellence Awards, while the City of Elmina also emerged as the World Gold Winner in the Master Plan category.
