KUALA LUMPUR: On August 23, Sime Darby Property reaffirmed its commitment to the continuing growth of its resort real estate development masterplan with the introduction of Alya Kuala Lumpur.
Formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club Resort (KLGCC), the rebranding of the KLGCC development is in line with maintaining Sime Darby's leadership position in the industry, as well as a trusted developer of the highest quality product offerings.
Spanning a total of 360 acres with a total gross development value (GDV) of over RM8 billion, this international lifestyle development aims to be the most aspirational integrated living, working and leisure destination in Malaysia.
“The word ‘Alya’ has Arabic origins, and it means ‘sky, heaven, and divinity’. With the launch of this refreshed brand identity, we seek to create a new global model of a quintessentially Malaysian lifestyle brand that can also be replicated worldwide.
“Alya integrates modern luxury living, optimised space planning and best-in-class facilities into the natural topography of a verdant tropical setting – giving its communities the time, space, and experiences beneficial to their well-being,” enthused Sime Darby Property managing director Datuk Ir. Jauhari Hamidi.
Alya Kuala Lumpur comprises eight development parcels spanning 61 acres covering elements such as residential (bungalows, condominiums, town houses and serviced apartments), commercial, retail and hospitality.
This lavish development offers a prestigious address in addition to redefining upscale living; it creates a unique differentiation from other luxurious developments, in the type of lifestyle that discerning homebuyers now seek for.
With a ‘back to nature’ concept, wellness is a key component with a variety of easily available sports and recreational facilities to encourage healthy living, such as the TPC Kuala Lumpur as well as Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Resort. There is also the 245-acre Bukit Kiara public park for joggers, hikers, bikers and wildlife enthusiasts.
Against the backdrop of Alya’s lush greenery, this ambitious project encapsulates a new international sought-after destination on the last piece of prime property in Kuala Lumpur. The development of all the exclusive parcels in Alya Kuala Lumpur is expected to be completed by 2025.
Alya further underscores Sime Darby Property’s continuing contribution to the growth and development of Greater Kuala Lumpur / Klang Valley to be the top 20 most liveable global metropolis by 2020, as well as one of the economic drivers under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP).
To cap it all off, Alya is surrounded by KL’s most affluent western suburbs within a 15km radius – Bangsar, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Bukit Damansara, Sri Hartamas, Mont Kiara and Bukit Tunku. These elite suburbs are complemented with international schools, specialist centres, retail malls, F&B outlets, commercial and healthcare centres.
“As one of Malaysia’s top property developers, we remain committed not only to maintaining our leadership position in the industry, but also to remain as a trusted developer of the highest standards in delivering quality products. We aim to be a market leader with this fantastic property offering,” said Jauhari.
The first development within Alya is Senada Residences, scheduled for a September launch. Senada comprises two residential towers with a total of 429 units of serviced apartments and suites offering an all-encompassing contemporary living experience. There is also an existing development under the Alya brand: East Residence. A 10-acre development, it comprises 112 courtyard villas, 14 townhouse villas and a clubhouse for residents.
Sime Darby Property was most recently recognised as the ‘Best Property Developer’ in Malaysia, at the South-East Asia Property Awards 2016. The company also bagged gold for the 2016 Putra Brand Awards: The People’s Choice, its 7th consecutive win since 2010.
