KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Property has signed on international construction services company Turner International as its project and construction management consultant for potentially three high-rise developments collectively worth over RM1.3bil in gross development value (GDV).

At a signing ceremony today, it was revealed that Turner International's involvement with Sime Darby will encompass advisory and consultancy roles for Cantara Residences at Ara Damansara, an integrated development of 888 serviced apartments units with a GDV of RM676.05mil.

Turner International will also be facilitating a similar role for Sime Darby Property's Quarza Residence, an integrated development of two residential towers comprising 254 units each with a total GDV of RM700mil.

Sime Darby Property also revealed that Turner International will be integral to the development of Jendela, an upcoming integrated development of serviced apartments and retail space that will be launched next year.

Among the areas of project management services that will be provided by Turner International include design and engineeering management, construction management, safety, quality, planning and controls, as well as project close-out.
Sime Darby Property targets to achieve RM2.5bil sales in the current financial year ending June 30, 2017 compared with RM2bil a year ago.

Its managing director Datuk Jauhari Hamidi said Sime Darby Property plans to launch 3,000 units in this financial year, of which 500 units were taken up in the first quarter ended Sept 30, 2016.

Among those present at the event were Sime Darby Property chief operating officer Datuk Wan Hashimi Albakri, Sime Darby Property head of integrated development Suhairi Ramly and Sime Darby Property director Datuk Johan Ariffin.

Also present were Turner International integrated project director Scott Huisington, Turner International vice president & regional director (South East Asia) Michael Doring, Turner International program director Douglas Diercksen and Turner International president & CEO Abrar Sheriff.
