PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Property Bhd (SDP) has officially broken ground on Vision Business Park (VBP), a key component of the Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV2.0) development. The ceremony was officiated by Negeri Sembilan Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Aminuddin Harun.
VBP spans 760 acres with a gross development value (GDV) of RM2.4bil, in addition to the over 6,000 acres that SDP has developed in Negeri Sembilan. It features an 80:20 industrial-to-commercial ratio, offering 623 acres for industrial ventures and 137 acres for commercial businesses.
“VBP is a key step in our commitment to industrial development, supporting Negeri Sembilan’s economic transformation. As a future-ready industrial hub, VBP will attract businesses, create jobs and strengthen the state’s position as an industrial growth centre. Building on the success of Hamilton Nilai City, operational since 2021, VBP supports the growth of light and medium industries, driving innovation and expansion,” said SDP group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Azmir Merican.
The development provides a comprehensive industrial ecosystem, featuring ready-built factories, industrial plots, shop offices and research and development centres. Its clustered masterplan fosters business synergies, complemented by centralised amenities such as dedicated labour quarters & centralised heavy vehicle parking to support operational efficiency.
“With rising demand for logistics, warehousing and manufacturing amid e-commerce expansion and supply chain shifts, VBP’s prime location, strong connectivity and sustainability-driven design make it an attractive investment for businesses looking to expand and future-proof operations,” Azmir added.
Also present were Negeri Sembilan state exco member Teo Kok Seong, state secretary Datuk Zafir Ibrahim, SDP independent non-executive director Mohamed Ridza Mohamed Abdulla, integrated development chief operating officer Datuk Mohd Idris Abdullah.
