KUALA LUMPUR: Following the Association’s Annual Delegates Conference, the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda) Malaysia elected its new national council members for the 2024/2026 term. 

Equatorial Palms Sdn Bhd Datuk Ho Hon Sang has been elected president, taking over from the immediate past president Datuk NK Tong.

During his tenure, Tong has been appointed to the Housing and Local Government Ministry’s (KPKT) panel of experts, the Construction Industry Development Board’s board of directors, and a member of the Kuala Lumpur City Council’s (DBKL) advisory board. 

“I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Datuk Tong for his dedication and diligence over the past two and a half years in his efforts to elevate the property industry to greater heights,” Ho said. 

“He has set the bar very high, and I am aware of the challenges that await me as the new REHDA  President. But I am confident that with the guidance from Datuk Tong and the past presidents, as well as the support of the other National Council members and REHDA  members at large, I will be able to continue the legacy to our achievements as a responsive, respected, responsible and relevant NGO,” he added. 

Taking over Ho’s previous post as deputy president is REHDA Selangor chairperson I&P Group Sdn Bhd (SP Setia Berhad) Datuk Zaini Yusoff. The full list of the newly-elected REHDA national council is as follows:
