The Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda) Institute recently hosted an online webinar titled 'IBS and IOT in Construction'.
Initially planned as a one-day workshop at Wisma Rehda, the workshop was converted into an online webinar spanning three sessions over two days in lieu of the conditional movement control order (CMCO).
The first two sessions were held on Oct 27, 2020 while the final session concluded on Nov 3.
The webinar covered an array of topics related to the challenges and implementation of Industrialised Building System (IBS) in Malaysia as well as the digitalisation of the construction industry including the use of Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
Also discussed were case studies and success stories of prefabricated construction in Singapore.
Speakers included engineers, architects and technologists as well as representatives from the Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM), Building and Construction Authority Singapore (BCA) and Gamuda Engineering.
The webinar was attended by property developers and other members of the real estate industry, with StarProperty serving as the official media partner.
