THE Rasah MCA will seek a government allocation of RM100,000 to repair the termite-infested roof of a community hall at the Mambau New Village in Seremban.
MCA national Youth legal bureau head Ng Kian Nam said he would write to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong for the allocation.
“The community hall built before Merdeka is in dire need of repairs.
“A section of the roof has collapsed and we need funds urgently to get it repaired,” he said during a visit to the hall.
He said MCA had always looked after the wellbeing of the constituents even after it lost the Mambau state seat to the Opposition.
Citing an example, he said since the last general election in 2013, MCA had helped the villagers apply for allocations of over RM220,000 from the PM’s Department.
“We managed to get the funds to repair the drainage, resurface roads and build a proper entrance to the village,” he said.
He said the Rasah MCA had also helped the Tong Sim Old Folks Home in Taman Rasah apply for a one-off RM15,000 grant from the Star Foundation recently.
The Mambau state seat is located under the Rasah parliamentary constituency.
“We will continue to assist the constituents in any way we can to ensure their welfare is always looked after,” he added.
