PETALING JAYA: Tropicana Corporation Bhd and its group of companies recently announced the retirement of Datuk Yau Kok Seng, who has served as group chief executive officer of the Group since January 2013.
According to the statement, the Tropicana’s board of directors had been informed of Yau’s intention to retire at the end of 2017 previously. However, due to health reasons the date has been brought forward to Nov 30 instead.
The Group will continue to conduct a comprehensive search for his replacement.
Tropicana chairman Tan Sri Othman Abdul Razak said, “On behalf of the Board of Directors of Tropicana, I would like to thank Yau for his contributions to the group. Yau’s leadership and knowledge of the business have proved valuable to the Group, and we wish him well. The Board is satisfied that all major projects and initiatives are in good hands and are proceeding as planned.”
Yau is a chartered accountant and has more than 30 years of experience in auditing, corporate finance and general management. Prior to joining Tropicana, he was with Hong Leong Industries Bhd, where he served as group managing director since September 2011, and before that, he was the managing director of Sunway Holdings Bhd since April 2001.
