IWAJIB Property Sdn Bhd pledged for greener grounds in One Park at Taman Semenyih Idaman with a tree planting ceremony.

The feature tree planted on May 14 was a ‘Samanea Saman’, commonly known as ‘raintree’, signifies the property developer’s commitment to protect the environment and practice sustainable development.

Iwajib Property director Datuk Chew Yin Keen said the eco-friendly homes were being built in tandem with the greening of the township.

He added that the raintree’s canopy would provide shade and the tree could grow up to 80m in height and 2.8m in trunk diametre.

“The greening of One Park is more than just planting trees, it is about creating a whole ecosystem of co-existence and interaction among humans, flora and fauna.

“Species of plants are carefully selected to attract animals that will help in spreading plant seeds in order to form complete ecosystems,” he said.

Showing her support for the green effort were Miss Malaysia Earth Kuala Lumpur 2016 Renee Quimson, Miss Eco Beauty KL 2016 fifth runner-up Chanelle Jasmine Wong and Miss Air KL 2016 runner-up Prasana Shri.

Scheduled for completion by December 2018, Iwajib Property promises residents a central “greenearium” to attract butterflies and birds as part of a greener housing development.

The 8ha land to be developed in three phases will be scattered with several private themed parks such as a fernarium, heliconium, calathium, herbarium, and fruit garden reserved for homeowners.

Landscape architect Ho Peng Ming added that the plants would be watered using water harvesting techniques.

The eco-friendly facilities provided for the 250 gated-and-guarded housing units will include compost bins, solar-powered parameter fencing, as well as a 2.3km jogging track.
