DESPITE ample opportunities given to bumiputras to buy property at a discounted price by the state government, many have yet to make good use of it.
This has resulted in plenty of unsold bumiputra units even after completion.
According to writer and lawyer Khairul Anuar, this is because there is a common misconception that bumiputra property and Malay reserve land are worth less than other types of property.
In his upcoming talk at “Konvensyen Hartanah”, he will shed some light on the differences between bumiputra and other types of property.
He will talk about interesting topics such as strategic location, the differences between bumiputra property and Malay reserve land, and how to deal with transactions for these types of property.
Anuar is the author of 40 Questions You Should Ask Your Lawyer before Buying a Residential Property in Malaysia. His talk will be conducted in Malay.
Meanwhile, AMACC Management Services managing director Amsyari Shakur will also educate the audience on the taxes involved in property investment, which include income tax, property gains tax and Goods and Services Tax (GST).
In his talk, Amsyari will highlight key topics on how to increase profit with taxes, how to avoid being compounded and tips on how to lower the tax burden.
His talk will provide insights into how taxes will affect buyers in terms of profit.
Both talks will be held on May 14, from 2pm to 3pm (by Amsyari) and 6pm to 7pm (by Khairul).
Konvensyen Hartanah is the first bumiputra property exhibition by StarProperty.my.
The event from May 11 to 14 at KL Sogo, aims to help bumiputra homebuyers in search of a dream home. It is a collaboration between StarProperty.my, mStar and Suria FM.
There will be several talks to improve the knowledge of home seekers.
The exhibitors will include IJM Land Bhd, LBS Bina Group Bhd, Macly Equity, Maju Kuala Lumpur, Sunsuria Bhd, Berjaya Land Bhd, OIB, Uda Land Sdn Bhd and MRCB.
