THE recent high demand for water in areas along the Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant’s distribution route affected the water pressure to Bandar Puteri Puchong.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) corporate communications head Amin Lin Abdullah said in a statement that the water pressure problem to the residential areas was worse during peak hours.
He said this in response to complaints from Bandar Puteri Puchong residents that they had gone through a series of relentless water disruption over the past four months.
About 2,500 houses were without water supply.
He also said that Bandar Puteri Puchong was located on higher ground, which lowered the water pressure further.
“We have implemented flow-control measures for the surrounding areas of Bandar Puteri Puchong to increase the water pressure and water flow to the area,” he said.
Amin Lin said a booster pump would also be installed to improve the water pressure problem and put an end to the ongoing issue in Bandar Puteri Puchong.
He, however, added that Syabas had yet to set a date to start the pipe works.
