PETALING JAYA: Over 8,000 participated at the Sunsuria City Foodiethon 2024 hosted by Sunsuria Bhd at the Sunsuria City township. Entering its fourth edition, this year’s Foodiethon included a Neon Night Run for 5km in the evening while categories in the morning run consisted of 5km and 10km as well as a Morning Walkathon for 3km.

The annual program reflected Sunsuria's commitment to building a vibrant community, actively contributing to sustainability and fostering a healthy lifestyle.

The flag-off for the morning run categories was led by group executive chairman Tan Sri Ter Leong Yap, executive director Datuk Simon Kwan, chief executive officer Tan Wee Bee and education head Tan Ling Ling. Ter and Kwan also led the flag-off at the Neon Night Run together with chief finance officer Eng Kim Haw.

Apart from the running programs, other activities including a Zumba session, family-friendly carnival games such as quiz games, busker performances and lucky draws with prizes worth more than RM10,000 brought fun and cheers to the participants until sundown. The runners of Neon Night Run also illuminated the Sunsuria township with an array of colours as they progressed along the route, holding LED foam sticks.

As part of Sunsuria’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, special needs children from the Little Fighter Runners (Persatuan Pelari Anak Luar Biasa) were sponsored to participate in the Neon Night Run. Little Fighter Runners is a non-governmental organisation that facilitates outdoor running activities as part of therapy for children.

Staying true to the Foodiethon theme, there were pit stops offering nostalgic childhood titbits and snacks for runners to enjoy along the route. The event also featured more than 20 food trucks and food stalls offering a diverse range of street foods, snacks and beverages, catering to foodies looking to replenish themselves after the run.
