The Selangor state government has no rights to reserve land or make any development plans on privately owned land.
Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said the land occupied by Kontena Nasional Sdn Bhd in SS10, Petaling Jaya, is privately owned. If there was a need for public use on that land, such as to build a hospital, then the Health Ministry would acquire it, he said.“The two plots of land where Kontena Nasional is located is marked as an industrial land and it is privately owned.
"The state cannot make any development plans there,” Azmin said at the State Assembly meeting yesterday. It was previously reported that a portion of the 18.516-acre land was reserved to build a government hospital.Bukit Gasing assemblyman R.Rajiv told StarMetro that Petaling Jaya City Council had zoned part of the leasehold land for a government hospital under the Petaling Jaya Local Draft Plan 2.
It was reported that Kontena Nasional was disposing two plots of leasehold land in Bandar Sunway with the tender already receiving interests from well-known property developers.
Commenting on the news report, Rajiv said although the land was privately owned, part of it was zoned the hospital.
