TERENGGANU: The Terengganu government has standardised the period of land lease in the state to 99 years from the existing 30 and 60 years, said Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.
He said the state executive council had approved the enforcement of the amendment to the state land policy that was to have been originally enforced on June 21.
“The policy covers all new land applications,” he said at a press conference after witnessing the signing of an agreement between Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd and state government agencies.
Also present at the event were state secretary Datuk Wan Nawawi Wan Ismail, speaker of the Legislative Assembly Datuk Mohd Zubir Embong and Terengganu Incorporated CEO Dr Wan Ahmad Rudirman Wan Razak.
The state government had announced its intention to extend and standardise the period of land lease to make it easier for the people to obtain bank loans. – Bernama
