SINGAPORE: Sri Pengkalan Binaan Sdn Bhd’s (SPB Property) Taman Nuri Sentosa project has been awarded the World Silver Winner in the Affordable Housing category at the esteemed FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards 2024.
Held in Gardens by The Bay, Singapore, this significant achievement marks SPB Property's first international recognition, underscoring the company's commitment to pioneering innovative, affordable housing solutions.
Taman Nuri Sentosa, situated in the Taman Nuri township in Durian Tunggal, Melaka, is distinguished by its unique Villament architecture. This innovative hybrid design seamlessly blends the luxurious layout of villas with the practicality of apartment living, offering high-quality, affordable housing that caters to diverse communities.
SPB Property chief executive officer Datuk Jacky Yap expressed his pride in the company’s vision to become a leading developer of quality, innovative, and affordable homes. "Our fundamental concept is to make luxury affordable, ensuring that every segment of the community enjoys an elevated sense of living not just today but also tomorrow,” he stated.
Innovative Villament Concept
The Villament is the first of its kind in Malaysia, featuring 146 freehold units in a gated and guarded, hilltop residential enclave. Built on a 5.11-acre parcel, these units resemble two and three-storey townhouses, with each Villament occupying one floor of the structure. Each unit includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with sizes ranging from 1,000 sq ft to 1,300 sq ft. The development also boasts 20-foot green back lanes between rows of units, providing 27% green space, nearly double the local council requirement.
Priced attractively at RM180,000, all units were sold out within one and a half months, underscoring the project's unique appeal and strong market demand. Following this success, SPB Property has launched a new phase of Villament Taman Nuri Botani in Durian Tunggal and expanded the Villament concept to Banting, Selangor, where units are priced below RM250,000 and have already received overwhelming registrations.
The company will continue to expand the Villament concept to other states across Malaysia, benefiting more first-time homebuyers and young families. SPB Property aims to create more affordable and healthy living environments, in line with our tagline of Building Dreams, Improving Lives.
A legacy of innovation and quality

SPB has achieved above industry average QLASSIC score, which is the industry benchmark for building quality, and constantly strives to achieve Zero Defects across all its projects.
Taman Nuri Sentosa’s Villament concept has also won the StarProperty Award 2024 in the Starter Home category, the Malaysia Property Award 2023 in the Affordable Housing category and received a special mention in The Edge Property Excellence Award 2023 in the Affordable Urban Housing category. Winning the international FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Award is another significant achievement for SPB Property.
SPB Property's innovative projects have doubled its earnings in three years, and the company was named the Top Developer (Non-listed) in 2024 by StarProperty. Winning the FIABCI Malaysia Affordable Housing Project award is a testament to SPB Property’s dedication to excellence.
Looking ahead, SPB Property aims to expand its landbank and projects, currently totaling around 1,400 acres across Penang, Kedah, Perak, Selangor, Melaka and Johor, and continue addressing the nation’s affordable housing shortage with its high-quality, innovative products.
“SPB Property is deeply honoured to receive the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Award 2024, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the jury for recognising our project and company.
“We are immensely grateful for the contributions of our staff, advisory teams, and the continuous support and trust of our customers.
