PETALING JAYA: SP Setia recently held talk to recruit student to join in as Setia Caring Agent.

According to statement, the talk, titled “The Caring Agent, Impact Makers Talk” is to further inspire the students who attended Setia Caring Agent Programme to further their quests in making a difference in their communities.

The event was graced by S P Setia Foundation chairman Tan Sri Dr. Wan Mohd Zahid Bin Mohd Noordin, who encourage the students to “make ‘caring’ the household word”.

The talk was participated by over 50 students from SMK Sungai Kapar Indah, SMK Batu 8 Puchong, SMK Tinggi Klang, SMK Sri Istana, SMK Sri Serdang, Kolej Tingkatan 6 Petaling Jaya, SMK Seksyen 24 and SMK Shahbandaraya.

The three key speakers were Iskandar Syah Ismail, Dr. Bubbles of Red Bubbles, Kim Lim, Co-founder of The Picha Project and FOLO founder Jason Lim.

Setia Foundation is S P Setia’s Social Corporate Responsibility arm, whereby it has been giving a helping hand to underprivileged Malaysians since 2000.

One of the highlights of the foundation’s programme is its Setia Caring School Programme, which was launched in 2015 with the objective of promoting and educating the idea of “caring” to various communities.

It also seeks to encourage future leaders to have strong moral value besides academic success.

Red Bubbles’ mission is to bring smiles and laughter to seriously ill children in hospital and other healthcare settings through regular clowning visits.

The Picha Project is a social enterprise initiated by Hands of Hope.

It aims to provide financial empowerment to the marginalised groups in Malaysia by providing job opportunities to family. That includes creating a platform for them to cater food to the public, utilizing their existing cooking skills and equipping them further with professional guidance.
