IOI Properties Group Berhad will begin the second stage of works in the expansion and upgrading of the Bandar Puteri Puchong Interchange (BPP Interchange) from today to December 2018.

To facilitate this, the BPP Interchange is now closed to traffic coming from USJ, Shah Alam, Putra Heights and Putrajaya for the duration of the roadworks.

This RM20mil project, the first stage of which consisted of widening Lebuh Puteri with work completed in April, is to enhance the connectivity of the township and improve traffic flow between Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) and Bandar Puteri Puchong.

Upgrading works at BPP Interchange:

• Existing ramp from LDP to Bandar Puteri (Putrajaya/Shah Alam/Putra Heights/USJ bound to BPP Interchange) is closed from now until December 2018.

• Existing left-in junction into LDP from Jalan TPP 1/1 will be temporary closed.

• U-turn for local traffic underneath the BPP Interchange will be temporarily closed.

A traffic management plan offering alternative routes has been drawn up:

Traffic from Putrajaya to Bandar Puteri Puchong

• Exit from LDP at the Puchong Perdana traffic-light junction, turn right and proceed to Jalan PPU 1 (see Traffic Management Plan B); or

• U-turn in front of Tesco Puchong (see Traffic Management Plan A)

Traffic from Shah Alam/ Putra Heights/ USJ to Bandar Puteri Puchong

• Take exit 1119 Puchong Intan interchange on LDP. At the Puchong Perdana traffic light junction, turn left and proceed to Jalan PPU 1 (see Traffic Management Plan C); or

• U-turn in front of Tesco Puchong

Traffic from Taman Perindustrian Puchong (TPP)

lMotorists are advised to use the new alternative road alongside the LRT track, passing in front of the Castlefield Tamil School, to enter LDP.

lHeavy vehicles are advised to follow directional signage to enter LDP via Jalan Sri Puchong 1.

IOI Properties property development chief operating officer Teh Chin Guan appealed for patience among motorists in Bandar Puteri Puchong during the ongoing works.

Meanwhile, IOI Properties has since opened a newly built temporary road located next to SJK Tamil Castlefield.

The road allows motorists from Taman Perindustrian Puchong to get to LDP.

The interchange is currently serving the 404ha Bandar Puteri Puchong township with a population of 11,500 residents, 600 shop offices, four blocks of office towers at Puchong Financial Corporate Centre, and the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Puchong.
