SIME Darby Property continues to engage communities within its townships by organising a football clinic for children in Bukit Jelutong, one of the property developer’s flagship developments in Shah Alam, Selangor. The event is part of its “Customer 1st” campaign to achieve customer service excellence.

Organised in partnership with Malaysia Super League team Sime Darby Football Club (SDFC), the football clinic provided expert advice and inspiration to young and aspiring footballers in the township.

Those who took part were introduced to a training system used by professional football clubs to improve football knowledge and technique, such as ball control, dribbling and shooting skills.

Sime Darby Property deputy managing director Datuk Jauhari Hamidi said, “This is the start of a long-term programme that we have in place, to identify and develop football talents among children across our townships.

It is an avenue for these children to maximise their talents and achieve their dreams to become established sportsmen.

“This initiative is also an ongoing effort by Sime Darby Property to get closer to our residents and present wellness activities for the benefit of the communities.

“We take the opportunity to engage with our customers to learn how we can help improve our townships. Our customers have invested in a Sime Darby Property development, so it is only right for us to deliver top notch service and ensure that the customer receives the best possible experience from us,” Jauhari added.

The football clinic was divided into two age categories, for those under 12 and 15 years old. The children were guided by SDFC coaches and instructors on various techniques and skills and its application in an actual football match.

“SDFC is proud to partner with Sime Darby Property in this programme as it provides the club an opportunity to engage with Bukit Jelutong residents. I can see that there are many talented children in this township and I hope the knowledge our coaches have shared with them will help them progress in this sport,” said SDFC president Tengku Ahmad Shah Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.

Apart from the football clinic, Sime Darby Property also organised a carnival for residents of Bukit Jelutong with various games and activities to enjoy. A friendly football match was also conducted between Sime Darby Property and Bukit Jelutong Residents Association (BJRA).
