NANNING: Running port services alone is not sufficient for holistic economic development and Port Klang Authority chairman Tan Sri Kong Cho Ha (pic) has proposed for more products to ensure sustainable growth of the port business.
He said hinterland for industries, logistics hubs and free trade zones also needed to be developed.
“Today, transportation logistics information sharing platforms are becoming very important. For cost saving and transparency as well as for end-to-end tracking and monitoring of goods.
“Cutting logistics cost, speed and accurate delivery determine the competitiveness and success of trade,” he told the audience at the China-Asean Port Cities Cooperation Network Conference here on Wednesday.
