PETALING JAYA: BON Estates Sdn Bhd and Volvo recently teamed up with Aurizn to introduce an interior design campaign that brought seven talented designers from all over Malaysia to showcase their talents.
The final round of the campaign was an exhibition of the works of the designers at the Exhibit Night held at BON Estates Gallery in Bangsar which required the designers to merge the specifications of the interior of a unit at The BON Estates with the design of the latest Volvo cars.
The night culminated with GROV Design Studio Sdn Bhd’s designer Cherry Yeoh being crowned as the best designer with the grand prize of an all-expense paid trip to Volvo’s spiritual home and headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.
“I have designed a space that incorporated green plants. Having an area dedicated to greenery will improve the quality of life since it contributes to our well-being,” said Yeoh.
When asked about plans for her studio, she said, “I am looking forward to expanding into other parts of Malaysia.”
The winning design was chosen by Volvo Car Malaysia and BON Estates senior management as well as the event attendees through a systematic voting system.
Other finalists who showcased their creativity in the event were Make Over Home Project Sdn Bhd designer Tessa Ang, Chi Design Sdn Bhd design director Donny Lee, FID Atelier Sdn Bhd designer Rachel Liew, Zeitlus Design associate director Vic Teh, Oriwise Sdn Bhd branch manager Johnthi and KS Galaxy Kitchen Renovation interior consultant Alexis Toh.
The other finalists were invited to join BON Estates’ panel of designers for current and future projects.
Also graced the event were Aurizn editor-in-chief Bobby Ang, Volvo Car Malaysia managing director Lennart Stegland, BON Estates commercial director Chan Jin- Wy and BON Estates marketing director Angeline Liau.
“The challenge has shown that our capacity to achieve is limitless when we use the power of our imagination,” said BON Estates managing director Goh Soo Sing.
