KUALA LUMPUR: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) will face the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to explain its controversial overseas investments.
PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed (pic) said the focus would be on Mara investments in Australia which were being investigated by police there.
"We plan to call them in the end of August and the letters will be issued next week," said the Pulai MP at a press conference here on Friday.
Last month, Australian daily The Age reported that several senior Malaysian officials had pocketed kickbacks after inflating the price of properties in Australia.
Mara chairman Tan Sri Annuar Musa last week announced the suspension of two officials from Mara Inc following the allegations.
He also announced the appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers to conduct an audit on all Mara Inc overseas investments in Australia and Britain.
