RESIDENTS in Rasah, Negri Sembilan, can now share their views on the constituency and air their grievances through the “Rasah Sayang” page on Facebook.

MCA Youth legal bureau head Ng Kian Nam said apart from views and grievances, residents would also be able to find out the latest happenings in the constituency that includes new townships of Seremban 2 and Seremban 3.

“The public will be able to find out where they can get the famous nasi lemak Mambau and other delicacies such as nian gao or glutinous rice, Hakka and cuttlefish mee, beef noodles, yong tau foo, siew pau and our very own Kakak Tini cendol,” he said at the launch of the “Rasah Sayang” page at SJK(C) Kampung Baru Mambau.

Ng, who is tipped to contest the Rasah parliamentary seat in the upcoming general election, said the initiative was necessary as the constituency, located within the Malaysia Vision Valley, was set to undergo rapid development.

“We want locals to air their views on what they want and do not want here.

“As constituents, this is our collective responsibility,” he said, adding that he planned to come up with a blueprint for the constituency.

To achieve this, Ng plans to get proposals from professionals living in the area.

“Rasah has many residential areas and I am sure the people here will want their views considered.

“I plan to have a roundtable meeting with people of various backgrounds, in a month or two, before I come up with a blueprint for Rasah,” said the lawyer, 38.

Ng, who has provided legal aid to many individuals on a pro-bono basis, also appealed to the people to vote for him if he was nominated to contest in Rasah.

Ng also expressed confidence that MCA would be able to secure more votes from the four Chinese new villages – Mambau, Labu, Rasah and Rahang – in the constituency.

Several activities were held in conjunction with the launch including a siew pau eating contest.
