THE Penang Island City Council will soon start resurfacing a public car park within the grounds of the Noordin Street Ghaut flats in George Town, Penang.
City councillor Wong Yuee Harng said the car park was located on four parcels of land of which two parcels measuring 911 sq m would first be resurfaced at the end of the month at a cost of RM26,000.
“We hope to get the other two parcels resurfaced by the end of this year. There are a lot of potholes there. Some are up to four inches deep. A few accidents have happened there,” he told a recent press conference at the flats.
Wong said the resurfacing would only take one week to complete.
“During this time, some residents will have to park their vehicles elsewhere,” he added.
There are 120 parking lots on the four parcels of land.
