PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) will be a well-planned and sustainable development conducive for work, play and living.
Covering 153,000ha of Seremban and Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan, the project is part of the Government’s vision for Greater Kuala Lumpur that will be undertaken in stages up to 2045.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said it would focus on high-technology manufacturing, tourism and wellness, skill-based education and research, and specialised services – in line with national key economic areas.
“What is important is that MVV is a development that is inclusive and one that ensures all levels of society will benefit from it.
“Even though the aspiration is for MVV to be a metropolis, the people’s needs will be taken care of,” he said after chairing the first MVV steering committee meeting.
Najib said 1,000 acres would be earmarked for affordable housing, public amenities, recreational facilities and green lungs.
The development will also see an integrated transport hub that will connect Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Bandar Malaysia and Singapore.
The plan also sees MVV attracting RM290bil in investments and creating 1.38 million jobs.
Najib also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Sime Darby Property Bhd, Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP) and Brunsfield Development Sdn Bhd to lead the development.
Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the project, to be launched in August, would see the conceptualisation of a complete township.
“The development of MVV will not cause displacement of people and no land will be taken,” he added.
