AMPANG Jaya municipality's first mini stadium will be completed by the end of November, pending additions to the original plan, said Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) president Abdul Hamid Abdul Hussain.
He said from MPAJ's surplus budget, the council had decided to include four stadium lighting masts, which would serve as flood lights.
“This is so the stadium will have sufficient lighting at night,” he said, adding the project was 92% complete.
Abdul Hamid said the lights cost an additional RM3.5mil, amounting to a total cost of RM18mil for the stadium in Pandan Perdana.
The stadium was initially scheduled to be finished in May.
The MPAJ mini stadium will have a 400m synthetic track, an international standard synthetic football field and 1,100 seating capacity.
There will also be some 100 parking bays within the compound.
Jalan Perdana 6/3 will be widened with an additional lane during the last stage of construction.
Construction of the stadium started in November 2015.
