A LARGE troop of monkeys has damaged properties along the Morib coastline.
The area between Morib beach and The Gold Coast Morib International Resort in particular has seen major damage to hotels, resorts, houses, churches, agricultural farms, orchards and restaurants, among others.
Additionally, fixtures such as television aerials, cables, street lights, and fences have also been damaged and property owners have had to continuously replace or repair them.
The large troop numbering more than 200 – and growing fast – moved into the area about two years ago and started causing much destruction in their search for food.
It is hoped that the department will act urgently to resolve the hardship and anxiety faced daily by the residents and the property owners.
