PASIR GUDANG: Mah Sing Group has awarded a RM50mil contract to Kimlun Group to build a connecting road into the Tanjung Langsat - Cahaya Baru Toll Connecting Highway, which forms part of the Senai Desaru Expressway (SDE).
The construction of the connecting road will shorten travel time to locations such as Tanjung Langsat and Pasir Gudang by 15 to 45 minutes, according to a press release issued by Mah Sing on Thursday.
The connecting road will be beneficial to Mah Sing's 1,313-acre Meridin East township as it is located in proximity to the Pasir Gudang Industrial HUb and Tanjung Langsat Industrial Park.
“In addition to shortening the travel time to Tanjung Langsat and Pasir Gudang, the connecting road will also enhance connectivity by allowing easier access to the SDE as well as the North South highway," said Mah Sing CEO Datuk Ho Hon Sang.
The egress from the connecting road into Jalan Kong Kong will be approximately 1km long and one-and-a-half lanes wide while the flyover ingress from Jalan Kong Kong into the connecting highway will be approximately 1.5km long and two lanes wide.
Construction on the connecting road is scheduled to begin in Q1 2018, and set for completion end-2020.
Principal approval for the connecting road has been obtained from the Malaysian Highway Authority, and it is awaiting approval on the detailed design plans.
