Integrated development will have world’s first Sky Ferris Wheel
An iconic landmark will soon stand out from the rest of Kuala Lumpur’s architectural marvels. The M101 Skywheel, an integrated development designed by Europe’s Studio F.A. Porsche for M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd, will boast the world’s first Sky Ferris Wheel on the 53rd floor with a 220m-high vantage point.
Launched in March 2017, the 78-storey development will also be the first in the world to have a SkyMall on the 50th to 52nd floors offering over 200,000 sq ft of retail space which is bound to attract both local and foreign investors.
Not only that, the first Planet Hollywood Hotel in the region will have its address at M101 Skywheel which is strategically located in Kampung Baru in the heart of the city. The project has an estimated gross development value of RM2.2bil and is scheduled for completion by 2021.
The freehold development topped the charts at the recent StarProperty.my Awards 2018, winning The Wow Excellence Award (The Most Iconic Development).
M101 Skywheel was born from a vision of erecting a landmark structure in the city, said M101 chief executive officer Datuk Seth Yap, and will challenge what people think is not possible – like putting a Ferries wheel on the 53rd floor.
“The building’s exterior displays an eye-catching design of segments with a red-and-black colour scheme. This approach is bold and suave -- and makes a statement,” he added.
Staying true to the puristic direction of Studio F.A. Porsche, the 94 exclusive Design Suites are minimalist yet contemporary and complemented with fascinating features that may not be apparent at first glance.
One of them is the “magic TV”, which is invisibly integrated into the glass surface and only shows itself when switched on. Other features include a luxurious watch compartment, a concealed bed and a bag display unit.
M101 and the Studio came together to curate a materials palette that is in line with the design philosophy and project requirements. The result is a sophisticated mix of natural materials like red oak timber, marble and leather with engineered elements in black glass and steel.
The fully-furnished suites are available in three layouts: 2-bedroom (1,018 sq ft), 1+1 bedroom (909 sq ft) and 1+1 bedroom (879 sq ft).
Owners of the Design Suites will enjoy facilities that include an infinity pool, gym and sauna on the 78th floor amid Kuala Lumpur’s skyscrapers.
The development is easily accessible with an MRT station right at its doorstep.
With its bold and elegant design, M101 Skywheel is set to make heads turn as a new tourist attraction in the city centre.
