KLANG: The Mitraland 2022 Fun Run, hosted by property developer Mitraland Group, raised RM49,800 for local schools SJK(C) Tiong Hua Kok Bin and SJK(T) Jalan Meru.
Matching the funds from the total registration fees collected, SJK(C) Tiong Hua Kok Bin received RM25,800 while SJK(T) collected RM24,000.
The event's theme was a bubble and water run, with a bubble machine, foam cannons, an inflatable obstacle course, a pool noodle corridor and more, drawing a crowd of 1,100.
Each participant was given a medal and a certificate, with Fraser and Neave providing their isotonic sports drink 100+ while Moma Water provided mineral water. The event also hosted several food trucks and RM10 vouchers were given to the participants. The annual charity event was a grand return after the effects of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
Mitraland Group chief operating officer Tan Chee Hoaw presented the cheques to SJK (C) Tiong Hua Kok Bin board of governors chairman Khoo Nee Choo and headmistress Lily Gan while SJK(T) Jalan Meru Klang headmistress Susila Muniandy and curriculum senior assistant Kavita Thiagarajoo received the donation on their school's behalf.
