If you are a real estate agent or aspire to become one, then the best advice anyone can give you is to become a “local expert - a person knows about the community he or she is working in.
The person is well aware of the pros and cons of living in that particular community. Using the knowledge and contacts acquired, coupled with expertise as a real estate agent to lead his or her business to success.
Listed below are some of the prerequisites of being a “local real estate agent expert.”
1. Learn about your community
If you’re trying to progress further in your real estate business and generate more revenue, then the first thing you need to do is to learn as much about your community as possible. If you’ve been living in that area for quite a long time, then this will act as a plus point for you because you might be familiar with stuff that other agents are not aware of.
2. Highlight the perks
Buying a new home is probably the most significant deal anyone ever has to make in his life. So you should to seize this opportunity and highlight the best features in your list. Mention all the right schools, hospitals, recreational spots, public transport facilities, to name a few that are available in that area. After all, this is what 90% of people are looking when thinking about buying a new house.
3. Mobilize your social capital
If your friends and family are living in the same community that you’re working in, this can do wonders for you! Considering that they would have friends or acquaintances within the same area, do socialise with them while also promoting your business.
4. Social media: a stepping stone
Social media has become the key to success in business these days. To flourish your business and set more deals, develop a webpage of your own. Put as many details and information about your community as possible so that the user/viewer can obtain the relevant information based on your insight and knowledge about the area. 5. Language proficiency is a powerful tool
One secret of success of a local expert is that he is, “local”. The person knows the language of the natives, and this is probably one of the most underrated assets that a local real estate expert can leverage.
Research tells that people feel more comfortable communicating in their language. Keeping that in mind, a local expert can strike a more favourable deal for the buyer or sellers.
Note: One of the perks of being a local expert is that if you have set three or four successful deals, then the people of the community will act as your promoter themselves.
