KUALA LUMPUR: More than 20 property sellers and buyers gathered outside Bukit Aman to vent their frustrations over a law firm they claimed has cheated them.
The law firm, located in Bangsar South, was hired by these individuals but instead of dispensing the money to their respective clients, they claimed it had failed to do so.
Ram Talib Jani Mohamed, 54, who spoke on behalf of the group, claimed that at least RM5mil was owed by the law firm to them.
"I was selling my apartment in Sri Damansara for RM120,000 but to date, I have only received about RM31,000.
"Each time I go to the law firm, the lawyer is not around and I am forced to deal with a man who claims to be a manager there.
"I am not the only one facing these troubles. Besides the 20-odd people here, I believe there are others out there who have also been cheated," he said here on Friday.
He added that he had lodged several reports over the issue so far but the law firm was still operating.
"We want others to know that this is going on.
"We also hope the police will investigate the case and take action against the law firm," he said.
